Description of Service

TractData is a free, publicly accessible neighborhood data platform that presents housing, school, crime, and demographic data for places across the United States. The service includes:

• Place profiles with data from the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS), FBI Uniform Crime Reporting, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and state education agencies
• Search, filtering, and comparison tools across housing, schools, crime, and demographics
• State, region, county, and city-level browsing

No user account is required to access TractData.

Data Accuracy and Limitations

TractData presents publicly available government data as-is from official sources. While we take care to process and display this data accurately:

• Data may be delayed. Census ACS estimates, FBI UCR figures, and education datasets are typically updated annually, and there may be a lag between official publication and our updates.
• TractData does not assign ratings or scores to places, neighborhoods, or schools. All data is presented for informational purposes only.
• Crime statistics reflect reported incidents and are subject to reporting practices that vary across jurisdictions.

Not Affiliated with Government Agencies

TractData is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the California Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics, or any school district or government body.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated scripts or bots to scrape or bulk-download data from TractData
• Misrepresent TractData data as official government information
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to interfere with the operation of the service

Intellectual Property

The underlying neighborhood, school, and crime data is public information from government sources. The TractData platform design and original content are the property of TractData. You may share links to place profiles and reference data for personal, non-commercial use.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TractData is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed on the platform. TractData is not a substitute for visiting a place in person, consulting local professionals, or conducting your own research.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TractData and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to decisions made based on the data or data presented on this site.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of TractData after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
